Cleaning up Scotland

This week has been all about litter. If we haven't been picking it up we have been talking about it and planning  a number of events. On Wednesday we met with Keep Scotland Beautiful to start work on a Litter Prevention Action Plan and yesterday we made an announcement about the forthcoming Angus Litter Summit. More information about this event can be found on our Beautiful East Haven page. Today, it was the Great British Beach Clean in East Haven. A fantastic 18 people turned out for this event and we were inspired to find that a woman (Sandra) had travelled by bus from Banchory to help. Equally as inspiring is Rod and Sheila from Carnoustie who chose to spend their Golden Wedding Anniversary with us at the beach clean. I think it just shows how passionate people are about cleaning up our beaches and protecting our natural heritage for the future.  We will now submit our data to the Marine Conservation Society who collate information from all participating beaches across Scotland. As you can see we enjoyed a cuppa and something to eat after the event which is always a great way to build friendships and get to know one another a bit better - Thank you everybody
