Beautiful Scotland Awards
We were thrilled to achieve Gold and Best Coastal Village at the Beautiful Scotland Awards in Dunfermline last week. We attended a wonderful ceremony supported by Fife Council in the Glen Pavillion in Pittencrief Park. I have to admit to not really taking the time to look round Dunfermline before so this was a great opportunity. The ancient town was once the capital of Scotland and home to Kings and Queens. Princess Margaret persuaded King Malcolm to build a Benedictine priory now the magnificent Dunfermline Abbey in the mid eleventh century. Ancient buildings and cobbled streets can still be seen in the centre of the town. We will definately return to Dunfermline and spend more time looking round the many tourist attractions. In the meantime, we are celebrating!
