Scottish Natural Heritage

A small article on East Haven appears on page 53 of The Nature of Scotland magazine produced by Scottish Natural Heritage this autumn. It can be viewed on their web-site    http://www.snh.gov.uk

We have been working closely with Scottish Natual Heritage during the year and they provided invaluable support when we were producing our heritage infromation boards.  We are now supporting them to undertake special cuts of the Greater Yellow Rattle to see if we can encourage it's growth. As most of you know, East Haven is the only place in Scotland where this wild flower grows naturally. The plant has now been cut and the seeds spread across a large area before the grasses were raked up. It will be really exciting to carry out another count next summer to see if numbers have increased.
