• Sorbus Aria Lutescens

    Our Commemorative Tree

  • Community Grant scheme

Project kindly funded by Angus Council Community Grant Scheme

  • Planted on the 8th November 2013

A huge number of people turned out to take part in our tree planting ceremony.

When we consulted with people in the village about how they wanted to celebrate East Haven 800 a number of people suggested that it would be appropriate to plant a commemorative tree.
Sandie Wright led discussions with Angus Council to identify a suitable tree for planting in the landscaped area near to our large fishing boat. It was agreed that a medium sized tree, a Sorbus Aria Lutescens would provide a beautiful back drop to the boat, being silvery in leaf early in the season, then turning more green and having a show of white flowers and red berries.
On the 8th November 2013, Angus Provost Helen Oswald planted our commemorative tree marking the countdown to East Haven 800.
