Great celebrations today as around 30 of us gathered at the Bothy for lunch and a wee toast to our success at the Beautiful Scotland Awards. Almost everybody in the village and lots from outwith the village have made a contribution in one way or another so it was good to come together and enjoy the afternoon. As I've mentioned on many occassions, improving the place you live is about far more than gardening and people share their skills and talents in many different ways. That's why the Beautiful Scotland Awards are built upon the three pillars of Environmental Responsibility, Horticultural Practice and Community Participation. Today was a day for the latter though and enjoying friendship and success.
