Return of Lad's Love
This special cutting was returned to East Haven from Rampton having originated in Sandy Norrie's garden at No4 Long Row in the early 1950s. Cuttings were taken by Bill and Jean Wake in 1977 when they moved to Carnoustie and eventually found their way to Nottinghamshire where they have lived in various properties with Dorrie and John Milin. However, a package through the post yeterday contained a carefully packaged cutting of this lovely aromatic shrub which has now been planted in our wild life garden in Long Row. The photograph opposite shows Sandy Norrie with his springer spaniel Misty in his garden at No4. I'm sure Sandy would be amused to hear of the travelling 'Lads Love' and it's eventual return home.
