What a lovely surprise we had today when Anne and Frances Mathers, formerly of Rathmoyle returned to East Haven for a visit. It was Frances's birthday so what better way to celebrate than to return to the place that they grew up and loved so much. Anne and Frances lived in Rathmoyle with their parents David and Mabel and their brother, also David. The Family owned the Mathers Hotel in Dundee which was a “temperance” hotel, situated directly opposite the Dundee West Railway Station.
Anne and Frances have fond memories of their time in East Haven and can still remember many of the peope who lived here. We were able to show them round the gardens and also give them a wee peek inside the Bothy and our new fisherman's garden. Lovely afternoon.
