New cairn to celebrate 20 years of National Cycle Route 1

Some of you will recognise the hat. Ron is back in East Haven to do some more dry stone walling and build us a cairn at the head of the cycle path. This year marks the 20th anniversary of National Cycle Route 1 which runs right through our village and along the coast. The coastal path is part of the Coast & Castles North route from Edinburgh to Aberdeen, on Route 1 of the National Cycle Network which runs through eight differnt countries. We are doing this work in partnerhsip with Angus Council and Sustrans to create a warm welcome to the entrance of the village where one of the residents also provides drinks to raise money for Mary's Meals. The completion of the cairn and interpretation board will coincide with our Taste of Angus Cycle on 27th June.
