Originally from Glasgow, Joanne moved to the village in 2000 with her husband and their two daughters.
She has had a varied career in a variety of roles; UK wide pump sales engineer in the manufacturing and waste water industry, to strategic
business development director/professional in the oil and gas and financial services industry in Aberdeen, and more recently has held coordinator roles within Angus Council Education department in Forfar, and with a learning disabilities charity in Arbroath.
Joanne only took a ‘real’ interest in politics about two years ago, as like many people with busy working and family lives, her priority before then was trying to hold down and keep a job, and raising her family. She joined the Labour Party
on the 22 September 2014.
In May 2016 Joanne was selected to represent Scottish Labour for the Scottish Parliamentary Election in May 2016 as constituency candidate for Angus South. In 2017 she is campaigning to become Councillor for the Carnoustie
and District ward. Joannne is also chair of Angus South Constituency Labour Party.
